So, I was sitting there. Doing some studying of old times (AKA, when I was in college). I have forgotten so much.

Months ago I had a TI-86 emulator on my Android phone that worked quite well in a pinch, or while at work, where I don’t carry my actual calculators. I own both TI-83 and TI-86 calculators, both a requirement of my past education. I went searching for these emulators to calculate some circuit resistances, and was unable to find them.

It seems that TI is afraid that a free software emulator on a phone may out-do their $100+ “all college required, all famous” calculator.

Now its just struck me, how did TI get the monopoly on college math calculators? I don’t know a single damn person that has used an HP or other make calculator for a college course. We were never allowed to use the TI-89 because it did “too much” of the work for you. I guess it seems I will have to hunt down some batteries for an old, long lost friend.
